Nokia is trying everything to keep itself afloat form sinking in this fiercely competitive smart phone market. Though most of the market share has been snatched by Samsung and Apple, Nokia is still trying to regain its lost glory. Nokia Lumia windows phone have given the company some respite but it did not give the much needed acceleration to get ahead in the competition. The recent launch of Lumia 520,620,720,820 and 920 has seen varying degree of success around the world. Recent release of Nokia Lumia 928 exclusively for Verizon and now Lumia 925 is testimony that Nokia is working hard to come back into the game.
On 14 May 2013 Nokia Launched much awaited Lumia 925 smartphone. The phone seems to have lot in common with Lumia 920 and 928 with respect to features. Some of the most striking changes that the company made in this flagship device are its design and size. This time Nokia used Aluminum instead of Polycarbonate this gives the phone strength and makes it lightweight. Lumia 925 is 8.5mm thick and weighs 139 grams compared to its predecessor lumia 920 which weighed 185 grams and measured 10.7mm thick. Lumia 925 features 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB storage space (some carriers have 32GB of storage space variant) it has 4.5-inch AMOLED display with 1280×768 pixels resolution. The rear camera is 8.7-megapixel PureView camera and the front facing camera is 1.2-megapixel with Optical image stabilization, dual flash and Carl Ziess optics borrowed from Nokia 920. The phone has wireless charging, 4G technology, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC, WiFi. Unlike other phone in lumia series Nokia Lumia 925 will only be available in grey and black metallic colors and if you want to go for wireless charging then you need to purchase a separate shell to attach to its rear just like Lumia 720. Lumia 925 also has some great features like Best Shot, Action Shot, Motion focus, Change Faces which makes its more desirable. The phone will start retailing form the month of June first in UK, Germany, Italy and Spain later in China and after than in USA for a price of approximately 469 EUR before taxes. There is no word from Nokia regarding India launch or pricing.
