  • Prime Minister's Speech at NASSCOM Silver Jubilee Celebration
altOn 1st March NASSCOM celebrated its 25th year of foundation– its silver jubliee.  NASSCOM has been a tremendous success this Trade organization for Indian IT companies came into existence on 1st March, 1988. Founded by Nandan Nilekani & Dewang Mehta NASSCOM has stood the test of time and has created conductive and favorable ecosystems for Startups, SMEs and Large Organizations to come together and collaborate on various activities. The Regional, National and Flagship events & Conferences conducted by NASSCOM sees large number of participations by the IT companies that come there to exchange ideas and for networking opportunities. Today NASSCOM has 1800 member companies including Startups, SMEs and Large organizations from different business verticals.
 
The recently held event to commemorate silver jubilee NASSCOM invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest. Prime Minister who is well aware of the importance of IT in the growth of country’s economy gave an electrifying speech at the event held in New Delhi. He paid tribute to the co-founder of NASSCOM Late Dewang Mehta and recognized his contribution towards the IT field in India. He also acknowledged going forward NASSCOM will play a significant role in strengthening $146 billion IT industry by offering platform for IT companies to network and collaborate. Prime minister further added that today IT sector has given India a great recognition and made it a part of modern economy. He stressed on digital revolution and termed IT as India Tomorrow. He acknowledged the importance of e-governance in India and said that we will have billion smartphone and the market for it is huge it terms of App development etc. He emphasized more on innovation and retaining talents in the future and coming of companies similar to Google from India and developing ingenious solution that the world will embrace. In his speech prime minister said cyber security is threatening the digital world and many of the political leaders he met from various countries have raised this as their primary concern, he said If India can come out with a product or solutions that offer cyber security to the world there is a vast market for it. 
 
He talked about cloud computing, use of IT in tourism, Direct Transfer Benefit, coal block allocation, in fighting corruption etc. Prime minister believes that IT has lot to contribute towards Indian economy and soon if things work out as envisaged we will be IT super power.
